The Long Month Of February

When this month started, I had high hopes for things to go great. I was a little nervous with Owen being off track from preschool for almost four weeks, but I felt I planned a lot of great stuff and we would survive. Little did I know that there was a different plan awaiting us.

SICKNESS is what this month has been all about. I am serious we have had everything possible. The boys have been to the doctors four times in three weeks and we have filled five prescriptions. Carson started out with getting croup, he still three weeks later has a bad cough. Then they both had the cough and runny nose, which you know is just viral but resulted in a viral eye infection that need eye drops. Then a few days later things improved (thank heavens because it was Owen's birthday) and I thought for sure we were on the rode to being healthy. Oh, how wrong I was.

Starting last week Owen started showing the same symptoms of the cough, fever, running nose and hurting throat. So after three days of not improving we take him in to find out he has an ear infection. So finally we can start Amoxicillin and ear drops. So the same day Owen was showing mass improvement, you know what happens next. Carson starts up with the same symptoms and in addition starts throwing up. After two days we take him in to find out he has a double ear infection. So off to fill another prescription of Amoxicillin.

My hope is after a ten day course of medicine for both of them we will be illness free. But don't worry before that can happen Kerry and I now are suffering with the same stuff minus ear infections. Kerry can at least take over the counter medicine, while I suffer and while I am the one getting up at night with the kids. I believe I haven't sleep through the night in over two weeks with everyone being sick.

I didn't mean for this to turn into a venting session. I guess I should note that we have been able to do some fun things. We went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point, went to dinner at Red Robin, played with friends and had a birthday party. All I ask is that March comes soon and with good health.

UGg. Get some sleep, Emily.

We're with you. The kids are feeling better, just the constant runny noses, but Bart & I came down with what they have.

I guess that happens when you live together.

Yesterday I was home all day with a fever and chills, and intestinal distress. Today is just the after effects.

Maybe in March we can hang!

Hope you guys have a healthier month, maybe warmer weather will help. I'm with you, Emily. Tomorrow will be three weeks since I caught the cold, and not being able to take anything is awful! I still have a few lingering effects, but I feel much better than at the beginning. Try to get some rest!
