On Saturday, we had a birthday party for Sadie. I decided early on that I wanted to do something very special to celebrate her 1st birthday. I couldn't decide if I wanted a princess party, a fairy party, a flower party, etc. The more girlie the better (you get the idea). So I decided on a garden party with lots of pink to help us celebrate. I was able to borrow a friend's canopy and I decorated the inside of the canopy for a fun atmosphere. We needed to have it the Saturday before her birthday because the Saturday following her birthday is Kerry's birthday. So the weather was nice and we were able to have a luncheon in the backyard. To help prepare for this event, Kerry decided to put down some more sod in the southwest corner of our backyard the weekend before. The reasoning behind that is each year we have big plans for this space and yet nothing happens except lots of weeds. So we decided to put sod there for now and it makes the backyard look so much better.
Anyway back to the party details. We invited all girls to this event. The little girls each made crowns and decorated them with flowers. We played a couple games that were flowered themed. Then we enjoyed lunch. We served chicken salad on croissants, fresh fruit, creme puffs, chocolate covered strawberries, red cupcakes and pink lemonade. As a parting gift each girl got to plant a flower in a pot to take home with them.

Happy Birthday to Sadie! Man how this year has flew by!! Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know I am not ignoring you I totally forgot to leave my cell # 801-518-4578 I went back to work full time so I am hardly ever home and I still have a short in my home phone and have not got that fixed!!lol I never use it anyway! Hope all is going well!
