This year things were a little different for Owen's birthday. First of all he believed that his birthday was on Saturday this year and couldn't be convinced that it was on Sunday. So we decided we would do everything on Saturday the 13th. But with great sadness my uncle passed away and his funeral was to be held on that Saturday. So we needed to rearrange things.
After the funeral it was a wonderful opportunity for my family to be all together. After all the sadness at the funeral it helps you to refocus on the love and importance of family. So I was touched when my mom and dad and brother Todd decided to celebrate the evening with Owen's birthday. Also, a real bonus for Owen was that his favorite aunt Cassee and uncle Scott were here from Vegas for the funeral and were also part of the celebration. We all opened gifts, went to dinner and played miniature golf together. And to Owen the day felt very special and he then had to wait until the next weekend for his friend party.

Happy Birthday Owen!!! We were so excited we got to be there! It was a lot of fun!!! Emily! Your cake and decorations are so so so cute!!! You are such a fun mom! We miss you guys and are counting down the days until May!!! It's going to be so fun!
